Album 4 of the MIDI Reissue Series.

This album was originally written and programmed in 2007. This album is the first foray into expansive, prog-rock adventures and spaced out post-rock zone outs. The work on Checkerboard would set the stage for later long-form works like O Glorious Uncreation and How Forms the Crest.

The eight album MIDI Reissue series will include all major MIDI-based Brodmerkel albums, including the rarely heard debut, EPs, and split albums. The MIDI Reissue Series will see the publication of all of Brodmerkel's electronic albums that predate the genesis of Deep Drains and all recording projects thereafter.

A mixture of composition experimentation, chiptunes, genre hopping, and cinematic soundscapes, the MIDI Reissue Series sees the development and refinement of Brodmerkel's musical lexicon from 2006-2010. Other MIDI albums include the previously published O Glorious Uncreation and How Forms the Crest. In addition to the unearthed music, each MIDI Reissue will include 8-bit versions of all of the songs featured on the album.
